STAVIEN is a dietary supplement manufactured in France by the Licaps technology for incapsulation of liquid herbal extracts in capsules. This technology avoids the heat treatment of the active substance, thus preserving its useful properties and ensuring its rapid and complete absorption in the body. And while solid tablets are absorbed stepwise in four phases, Licaps / STAVIEN / has one - phase absorption. STAVIEN contains 20mg hyaluronic acid, 325mg Fish oil, 75mg turmeric extract and 10mg astaxanthin / 5% /.

1. The Hyaluronic acid is a dairy insoluble polymer composed of monoronic acid and N - acetyl - glucosamine. It is the main component building the intercellular substance in mammals and the main component of the synovial fluid. It is synthesized by the cartilage cells. It is the hyaluronic acid precisely that protects cartilage and synovial membrane from damage. The hyaluronic acid is important for adequate functioning of the synovial fluid and maintains the normal function and integrity of the joints and the bones. It supports the physiological functions and elasticity of joints as well as their recovery from arthritic diseases. The hyaluronic acid restores the balance between increased speed and number of the degradation products and the slowing down of its own synthesis during aging of the organism as a whole. It relieves pain and facilitates movement in affected joints by restoring their elasticity. The hyaluronic acid slows the aging process and it is a major component of connective tissue in all organs. With its spiral shape, it acts as a "molecular sponge" - it preserves 1000 to 4000 times more water than its own weight, i.e. it retains moisture in the collagen and the elastin of the skin.

2. The fish oil contains the long-chain polyunsaturated essential fatty acids - EPA and DPA. It helps reducing inflammation by affecting the so-called cytokines - mediators of inflammation. It facilitates the good lubrication of joints, having protective and anti-rhythmic effect on the cardiovascular system, which makes STAVIEN extremely valuable for people with heart problems as well as in adult patients. It increases the immune status of the organism.

3. The extract from the roots of turmeric contains potassium, iron, magnesium, vitamin B6, and its main ingredient is Curcumin. Curcumin has powerful antioxidant action and cleans the joints and the whole body from the destructive activity of free radicals. According to data published in the British Journal of Cancer, Curcumin is used in laboratory to destroy cancer cells of the esophagus. It is a natural remedy against arthritis and dementia, as it reduces the aggregation of neutrophil leukocytes in inflammation by an inhibitory action.

4. The Astaxanthin is a caratenoid which exerts the most powerful antioxidant action - 10 times stronger than that of Vitamin A and 100-500 times more than that of Vitamin E. The synovial joints are the large joints - shoulder, elbow, knee, hip and ankle. The purpose of the cartilage and synovium is to jointly take and bear the load and strokes that the cartilage experiences permanently. The synovial fluid provides nutrients to the cartilage. With advancing age the latter wears out, the synovial fluid changes and thereby loses its ability to lubricate the joints and overtake their loads. The joints become vulnerable and their mobility gets limited. The whole structure becomes damaged and coordination is lacking.

One of the classic causes of arthritic disease is the dysplasia of the joints. The disrupted supply of nutrients and the impaired access of oxygen to the cartilage, the ineffective removal of breakdown products in the joints, the non-physiological driving mode load (impaired statics) affect the durability of articular cartilage. Personal experience on the use of STAVIEN in my practice:

1.   For treatment of arthritic disease of hip, knee and shoulder joints:
In the acute stages we used non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (Diclac 75mg tabl.2x1 or Movalis 15mg tabl. 1x1x10) concomitantly with STAVIEN caps.2x1,        after 10 days continued treatment with STAVIEN caps. 2x1 - 3 to 6 months, combined with electrotherapy and physiоtherapy course. After 3 months there is decreased recurrence of disease, and after 6 months symptoms are away, the movements of the joints are improved, there is no morning stiffness and pain at rest.

2    After fracture, leaps, distortion and bursitis:
      After fracture - use STAVIEN caps.2x1 at least 3 months, together with Ca +        Vit.D3 500 mg and electrotherapy and physical therapy course. The treatment helps the       formation of callus, leads to reduction of swelling and pain after plaster immobilization and improves timely the movement capacity of the joint.

3.   Excellent effect in people with arthroid diseases immobilized for other pains -        hypertensive disease, diabetes, obesity. After intake of STAVIEN caps. 2x1 for 3      months, the pain is reduced and there is improvement of joints mobility.

4.   Very well received and accepted by patients with no side effects.
